Reading is such a critical and fundamental skill in every aspect of our lives. MPTF Reading Club aims to introduce the art of literature, expand students’ interest in reading, and develop their reading comprehension and presentation skills. Our mission is to provide an opportunity for them to read together, discuss and share their ideas and thoughts in groups.

Sabella Han is a rising sophomore at Irvington High School. She is the director and head of MPTF’s reading club. She is passionate about helping students learn and creating a stage for them to present. She has recruited and trained high school volunteers to lead the club sessions so more and more students could join in various age groups.

This is a place for students to explore the world of reading, a place to share each other’s thoughts, and a place for those who have the same interests to make friends.

Testimonies:

“Sabella is a patient and nice teacher. She teaches things very well and in a detailed manner. She makes every lesson fun and interesting and yet meaningful and productive. She also encourages and trains the kids’ presentation skill by showing them some Tedtalk video clips. I like the way she uses to keep my kid motivated. I can tell my kid is truly enjoys the reading class lead by Sabella. Thank you!”

JunLe’s Parent – 2021 Fall Session

“Kristine enjoyed the Reading Club which Sabella organized; it was weekly an hour zoom session for over three months. The students read the book “A Tale of Two Cities” together, analyzed and summarized the chapters, at the end of the session, students did powerpoint presentations on the story to the entire class. Classes were well organized by the teachers, and students were engaged and motivated to learn and ask questions. Kristine has learned vocabularies, and improved her reading comprehension as well as her presentation skill throughout the session. We appreciate and thankful to the opportunity MPTF offers to the middle school students”
