Mission: The Mission Possible Teens Tutoring Club is dedicated to servicing the community by helping all students in English, Science, and Math Subjects. Through the program, we promote more community service and develop leadership opportunities for members and tutors, while also benefiting students in low-income communities through free classes and scholarships.

Suffering during the transition between middle school and high school? Want to study in advance but lack self-discipline? Taking online courses but there is no social interaction?
Now, the Head Start Club would like to offer our community’s younger students the opportunity to take science, economics, and other online interactive tutoring classes for free.

Yuyuan Cheng

Yuyuan Cheng is a rising senior at Mission San Jose High, and enjoys astronomy and engineering subjects. He is the current Chair of the MPTF Tutoring Club and coordinates math tutoring. He enjoys volunteering and working with tutors/students to serve the community.

Ivan Zhang

Ivan Zhang (class of 2024) is a high school student in BISV. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball, playing flute, and signing as a tenor in Choir.
Knowing there is a gap between middle school and high school classes, Ivan wants to bring his knowledge on science and economics to help his underclassmen in the community. He founded Head Start Club to help middle school students to prepare themselves for the transition to high school learning. In the past, he taught chemistry and economics which both had curriculum like regular high school courses. Students who have completed these courses could take honors or AP classes with a head start. With passion for teaching and helping younger students, Ivan will bring more classes regarding science and poetry study.

Jeffrey Li

Jeffrey Li is an upcoming 8th Grader at Hopkins Junior High school, the founder of the MPTF Math Club, and the current Secretary of MPTF. His interest for competitive mathematics was sparked in 4th grade when he attended Challenger and was first place in both the school math contest and Math Olympiad (MOEMS). Jeffrey is an AIME qualifier in 2021. Jeffrey has 2 years of teaching experience in competitive math. During the 2020 Summer he taught PreAlgebra (AOPS), and AMC 8 Class online. He also teach and assist in several other classes such as the AP Physics 1 class, where he acts as a TA.

Serena Cai

Serena Cai is a rising junior at Mission San Jose. She's been tutoring for over a year, and is taking Calculus BC in the fall. She really enjoys tutoring elementary students and hopes to give back to the community!

Andrew Wei

Andrew Wei, a Mission San Jose High 9th grade student. Andrew has a strong interest in both math and science subjects, and has tutoring experience for one year. He also played the piano for 8 years and passed the highest level test of MTAC earlier this year. Andrew loves classic music and playing the piano and wants to motivate others to enjoy it as well.

Annie Xu

My name is Annie and I am a Senior in Mission San Jose. I love science especially Chemistry and Physics. And I have a passion for teaching. I have been teaching math during summer. I am 2023 USNCO camper, and 2022 USNCO high honor. My goal is to help bring kids up to speed and also help them to enjoy learning science.

Louis Lu

I have great experience in science especially I like physics. I am a 9th grade student in Basis. I have teached a kid Math in the summer. I have learning physics in three years. Some of the topics I am already very familiar is forced 2D kinematics and energy. I also know some basic concepts about light.

Vincent Wu

My name is Vincent Wu. I am a freshman at MSJH. My hobbies are reading and playing basketball. I have some teaching experience, as I had taught English over the summer. In past few years my Star test was very well in English. I ‘m confident to be a good tutor.

Katherrine Tan

This is Katherine, I am a 7th grade student at FUSD. I enjoy reading, arts, chess and logical thinking. I am playing chess during my free time.

Richard Wan

Richard Wan is currently a 7th grade student at Hopkins Junior High. He has been learning and playing chess for 7 years, and he has won many competitions during his elementary school years including 1st place in CalChess State Championship. Richard also had two years of experience teaching beginner chess before.

Tianyi Li

Tina is currently a 10th grade student at Irvington High School. She started to play Go (Weiqi) in 1st grade, and her passion for the game has only grown stronger since then.  Tina won American Go Association (AGA) Girls Cup in 2018 and 2019. She represented USA in the 30th International Amateur Pair Go Championship in 2019. She started to teach Go at local schools two years ago. She wants to promote and spread Go in local community and help more people start to play and enjoy Go.
